Support available with the Rent Deposit Scheme which helps tenants access private rented accommodation.

Who is eligible?
Eligibility criteria are as follows:-
- You must have a local connection to the Babergh or Mid Suffolk district
- You must be either homeless or at risk of losing your home
- You have a low income, either benefit reliant or in low paid employment
- You are unable to raise the funds yourself or obtain from another source
- You must be willing to repay any loan of money with monthly repayments as set out within a legal agreement
- You must be willing to engage and co-operate with us. If you are homeless due to avoidable rent arrears, or you have been evicted for nuisance and/or anti-social behaviour you will not qualify for help.

First find an affordable and suitable property and view it, then contact the Housing Team to apply for assistance from the Rent Deposit Guarantee Scheme.
