Project summary
Our Find Your Own Home scheme is for people Enfield Council has accepted a housing duty towards. It gives them the opportunity to secure a suitable, affordable private rental home of their choice.
Clients
Who is eligible?
Find Your Own Home scheme is for people we accept are ‘homeless or at risk of homelessness’.
- You are living in Enfield and we have accepted a housing duty towards you
- You have found a private rental property that you like
- You are in receipt of Housing Benefit or Universal Credit
- You believe you can afford the rent, but need financial help with upfront costs like a deposit or rent in advance
- The property of your choice passes checks that it is safe and that you can afford to rent it.

How are referrals made
To take part, you must :
- get Housing Benefit or Universal Credit
- have found a private home to rent
- be able to afford to pay the rent of the home you have found (but you need help with upfront costs such as the deposit or rent in advance)
Your chosen home must pass our safety and affordability checks.

The Landlord Incentive Scheme offers one month’s rent paid in advance and one month’s deposit (or an incentive paid
