The Blaenau Gwent Bond Board (The Wallich)

Project summary

The Blaenau Gwent Bond Board is managed and operated by The Wallich and is run in partnership with Blaenau Gwent Housing Options Service.  The service issues bond certificates which cover the cost of a deposit on a rented flat or house.

Clients

Who is eligible?

Those threatened with homelessness or vulnerably housed (overcrowding or disrepair) • On a low income either in receipt of benefits or on low pay

  • Assessment of client needs
  • Bond Guarantees
  • Practical support for tenants (e.g. advice on setting up tenancy/deposit)

How are referrals made

Referrals to the Bond Board are through the Housing Options Service only.

In addition to the services above also provided are pre-tenancy HHSRS inspections, and Landlord registration advice and guidance.
