Threshold Housing Advice: Barnet Centre

Project summary

Offers advice, assistance and representation for private and public sector tenants in the borough of Barnet. Also offers advice on housing issues, such as housing options, landlord and tenant disputes, homelessness, and rent/mortgage arrears. Clients are seen on drop - in sessions without prior appointments

Who is eligible?

Single people not in priority need. Rough sleepers/street homeless. Clients must have a local connection with the area.

Client services

Provides advice on accessing the private rented sector for single people who are not in priority need. Basic benefits advice. Tenancy support for ex- offenders and people with drug and alcohol issues. Rent negotiation.

Financial incentives for landlords include a guarantee in place of a deposit and rent in advance.
