Ali's Icebreaker challenge at Lulworth Cove

Over 300 people have braved the cold and taken part in Crisis Icebreaker so far this Winter at one of our events or by doing it their own way. Together, they've raised over £80,000 so far to help people build their lives beyond homelessness.

Ali is one of this year's Icebreakers, and has raised £1,379 so far by swimming in Lulworth Cove every day in January. She says, "Swimming daily has been amazing. Although I have been sea swimming since last March, to swim every day, with the water and air temperatures both low, has been a very physical and mental challenge. The storms this month have added to the drama as well.

"But the one thing that I have thought about each day is that, after my swim, I can dry off, get dressed and have a hot drink before heading home for a hot shower. But many of the people that Crisis support cannot. Just changing after a swim when it's -1 deg C is physically painful, so to be rough sleeping at this time of year must be so, so challenging."
