Run for Charity Terms & Conditions

By ticking the acceptance box during registration, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions, which form a binding agreement between you and Crisis. 

  • You must meet the minimum age requirement for your selected event. If under 18, you must have written consent from a parent or guardian.   
  • You must meet any eligibility rules set by the event organiser.  
  • Proof of eligibility, such as photographic ID or a signed parental consent form (for under 18s), may be requested at any time. 
  • Crisis charity places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.  
  • A non-refundable, non-transferable registration fee is required to secure your place.  
  • Registration fees do not count towards your fundraising target.  
  • Charity places may not be sold, swapped, or transferred.  
  • You must complete any registration process required by the event organiser by the stated deadline or your place may be withdrawn. If this is necessary, the Crisis Community & Events team will inform you well in advance of what action is required. 
  • You will notify Crisis as soon as possible if you no longer wish to take part in the event. 
  • By accepting a Crisis charity place, you agree to raise the minimum sponsorship target stated for your selected event.  
  • All sponsorship money must be paid to Crisis no later than six weeks after the event.  
  • If you do not meet your fundraising target, or any fundraising milestone communicated with you, such as 50% raised by a set date, Crisis reserves the right to withdraw your place and may request that you make up the shortfall. 
  • If you are unable to take part in the event, you must contact Crisis as soon as possible and forward any money raised to Crisis.  
  • Gift Aid will not count towards your fundraising target.  
  • You agree to only use legal fundraising methods and comply with Fundraising Regulator guidelines.  
  • If you withdraw from the event, donations will be retained by the charity unless a donor submits a written refund request within 14 days of their donation. Refunds are at the sole discretion of Crisis.  
  • You will make it clear to sponsors if a portion of their donation will cover event costs.  

 

  • Registration fees are non-refundable under any circumstances. 
  • Deferrals or transfers may be offered at Crisis’ discretion.  
  • Places cannot be transferred after the event organiser’s registration deadline. 
  • If the event is cancelled or postponed by the organiser, Crisis is not liable for costs such as travel or accommodation.
  • If postponed, your place may be transferred to the new date or a similar event, subject to charity and organiser approval.
  • Crisis reserves the right to reallocate charity places if you fail to meet registration or fundraising deadlines, to ensure the charity’s fundraising efforts are not negatively impacted. 

 

  • You take part at your own risk and are responsible for your own health, fitness, and insurance coverage. You acknowledge that Crisis is unable to provide insurance for fundraising activity, and that you are responsible for securing appropriate insurance cover if required for your fundraising activity.  
  • You must ensure you are medically fit to participate and seek medical advice if necessary.  
  • You must comply with all event rules, instructions, and local laws.  
  • You agree to represent Crisis positively and avoid behaviour that could damage the charity’s reputation.  
  • Crisis reserves the right to withdraw your place for misconduct, failure to meet fundraising targets, or breach of these terms.

  • You acknowledge that you may be contacted by email, phone, and post in relation to the event you have registered for, so that Crisis can deliver the necessary administrative and event-related communications. 
  • This will include communications about: (a) Completing your registration for the event with any third-party event organisers; (b) receiving your running vest via post (c) Fundraising advice and tips (d) Information about Crisis and the impact of donations and (e) any relevant event information.  
  • You acknowledge that failure to respond to communications from the Crisis Community & Events team about completing your registration or fundraising may put your event place at risk. 
  • Your personal data will be processed in accordance with Crisis’ Privacy Policy and the DPA 2018.  
  • Necessary details may be shared with the event organiser to confirm your registration.  
  • Your details will only be used to contact you about the event unless you opt in for other updates 
  • Crisis may take photos or videos during the event and use them for promotional purposes.  
  • You can opt out by contacting the Crisis Community & Events team before the event via email: fundraise@crisis.org.uk  
  • If you provide photographs or videos taken during your fundraising activity to Crisis, you agree that these may be used by Crisis for commercial and/or fundraising purposes, including online and print materials, for a period of up to 5 years. By sending these to us, you are also confirming that anyone featuring prominently in the photograph or video is aged 16 or over and that they have consented to their image being used this way. 
  • Crisis is not responsible for injury, illness, loss, or damage caused by your participation, unless due to its negligence. Responsibility for the safe organisation and delivery of the event lies with the third-party event organiser. 
  • The event organiser’s liability terms also apply.
