Lian's story

"As an international student, I wanted more chance to engage with my community, understand more about local culture and practise my English. My flatmate recommended volunteering at the Camden shop and said it had ‘the best vibe in the street’.

"I love the songs they choose in the shop and always feel calm and relaxed – even when I have lots of assignments I still keep volunteering as it’s a way for me to stay refreshed.

"To me, the Crisis volunteer community is like family and I’m made to feel welcome and encouraged every time I volunteer. I get to make new friends with people from different backgrounds and get to know their stories."

By sharing stories we can change attitudes and build a movement for permanent, positive change. Stand against homelessness and help us end it for good.
