Volunteer at Crisis at Christmas in Coventry

Crisis at Christmas is a unique volunteer effort that provides immediate help for homeless people at a critical time of year and can make a real difference to people experiencing homelessness. We appreciate everyone's interest in volunteering at Crisis at Christmas. However we have been really lucky and all shifts and roles are now full. Unfortunately we are now unable to take any more applications.

Your Christmas questions answered

During the week 17 - 21 December 2018 we will be running health and wellbeing activities at hostels and day centres across the city.

Our main Christmas event will be held on Christmas Day at a location in Coventry. We do not publicly give out the address, and volunteers will receive it after applying.

Volunteers are expected to make their own travel arrangements to each venue and to be aware that there is no public transport on Christmas day.

Crisis at Christmas is only made possible through the generosity of thousands of volunteers and donors. If you're unable to volunteer but still want to help, please take a look at our Amazon Christmas Wishlist and see if there's anything you can help supply us with to make Christmas truly special for the guests this year.

You can apply now. There will be various roles available including general support, kitchen, driving and activity leaders. We will also be asking for hairdressers, massage therapists, podiatrists, physiotherapists, yoga and fitness instructors for Wellbeing Week 18-21 December.

All of our Christmas Day volunteers will be expected to attend an induction session where we will cover everything you need to know to prepare you for your volunteering.

You will be given a choice of dates during the application process. Wellbeing week volunteers will be given a brief induction prior to the event.

Specialist volunteers such as Kitchen Assistants and Minibus Drivers will require qualifications, the details of which are explained in the relevant role description.
