Crisis Skylight Oxford offers Art Classes that allows individuals to explore their own creativity through drawing, still life painting, experimental mixed media and 3-D work. We are looking for a volunteer who is engaging and interested in working with people but will also lend a hand with practical tasks such as keeping the art room tidy. We are looking for a temporary volunteer to help from January-March.
Crisis Skylight Oxford offers circuit fitness exercise classes that are fun and inclusive, helping clients to improve their mobility, strength and stamina. The class will use resistance bands instead of weights and each exercise will be performed in short bursts to keep the session fun. As a volunteer your role will be to encourage clients to remain motivated and help them follow exercises in a safe way, improving their fitness and building positivity.
Help end someone's homelessness for good. The tenancy mentor role involves visiting members in their new home to ensure they are managing their home successfully and feel supported.
Our IT classes support members to develop skills that can help them to move on with the next steps of their journey - this might be learning about a particular software package or completing an online learning programme. You will make a real difference to their lives by providing support to the class tutor as well as the Crisis members who attend the class.
Our gardening class teaches members a range of gardening skills including how to grow their own vegetables. At this session members will be helping prepare our allotment before planting for the coming seasons.
Help us to develop our singing group for performances at our carol concert and other events. Use your skills as a pianist/keyboard player and your ability to read music and harmonise to help us develop our talented members ready for performance.
Renting Ready is an accredited course which helps members to prepare for moving on to rented accommodation. You make a real difference to their lives by providing support to the class tutor as well as the Crisis members who attend the class.
Our technical skills classes help our members to develop new and existing skills, build confidence and fill their time doing something they enjoy. Our bike maintenance sessions enable members to learn how to maintain a bike for safe use; enabling them to access an affordable and flexible method of transport.
