Our Winter Offer at Crisis Skylight Birmingham
Since March, Crisis Skylight Birmingham have been offering our member remote learning opportunities in the field of Essential Skills, Smart Skills, Tenancy Skills, Creative Arts, and Health and Well-Being.
The following courses will be running throughout the winter months.
Most of the courses are tailored to individual needs but some group activities/start dates will be tailored based on referral responses.
This is a dynamic programme, and we will be changing/adding courses in response to member needs and lockdown measures.

Tenancy Skills and Renting Ready |
Leanne Beard | Explore different housing options, how to find a property, understand different tenancy types, costs and bills, rights and responsibilities etc. Renting Ready Units 1, 2, & 3 available or non-accredited Tenancy Skills |

Using your computer and online basics |
Issy Johnson | Learn the basics of using a computer, setting up email accounts, using internet search engines and how to stay safe online. Members should already have a device and access to the internet to do this course. |

Book Club | Issy Johnson | Members will be sent a book and activity pack. Sessions will be in groups and will meet weekly over zoom. Particularly aimed at members who are socially isolated and want to improve their confidence and networking, discussion skills and wellbeing. Opportunities for meeting new people, and discuss topics of mutual interest. |

Level 1 Health & Safety in a Construction Environment |
Steve Peckover | This qualification forms part of the application for an Operatives (Green) CSCS Card. This course is suitable for members who are looking to gain employment in Construction or Security industries. |

Preparing for CSCS (Health Safety and Environment Test) |
Steve Peckover | Preparing for CSCS offers knowledge and training for those who wish to gain a CSCS Card and find employment in Construction or Security work. Members will be sent either a workbook or access to the CITB app for revision and tests will be booked externally with CITB. |

Artist Mentoring (1:1) | Danielle Phelps | 1:1 Goal setting based on individual’s creative interests. Previous sessions have included developing a craft skill, making art for your home, creating a digital photography portfolio or setting up a creative business. All levels and interests welcome. |

Danielle Phelps | Create your own digital photography portfolio whilst learning about urban and street photography using landscape, portraiture and closeup techniques. No prior experience needed. All levels welcome!! Members will need a device for taking photos and access to zoom to participate. |
